Position
I started working at Contronics in October 2023 as a Sales Manager. In this role, I am responsible for managing new customer relationships, introducing them to our services and products, and assisting them in finding the appropriate solutions to meet their regulatory needs. This means that I interact with people working at various levels, across numerous types of organizations and companies. My background has always been in the healthcare industry, as I initially trained as a nurse. When I moved into sales, my focus remained on NHS and healthcare settings. It has been fascinating for me to engage with people from private-sector research and drug discovery companies, university research departments, and even manufacturing industries. I enjoy learning about their areas of expertise and witnessing how our products enable them to deliver their services safely and efficiently.
Where are you based?
Hertfordshire, but I have lived all over the country as my parents liked to move about! Born in Suffolk near Ipswich, I attended infant school in Lancashire near Blackpool, junior school in Ringwood, Hampshire and most of my secondary school and college years were in Inverness, Scotland.
I’ve settled in Hertfordshire, which is close to London, 25 mins on the train, but only a 1-minute walk from home and I’m surrounded by woodlands and countryside.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
My partner and I are both members of a Motorcycle Owners Club, in fact, that’s how we met! So, we love to get on the bikes, meet with friends and go on leisurely ride-outs. Throughout the summer, we attend numerous club rallies across the UK, so I regularly have a big tent in my trailer, hooked to the back of my bike for a weekend adventure.
When we aren’t out on the bikes, we follow both the men’s and women’s England Rugby Union teams.
Tell us an interesting fact about you…
Several of the bike club members and I appeared as extras in the 2023 movie ‘Sweet Sue’. You can see us riding our bikes and attending one of the character’s funerals. We even made it into the movie trailer!
I’ve been in the famous ERIC bar at Twickenham (it stands for England Rugby Internationals Club, and you must be a capped England player to be a member!) I also visited the England Squads changing rooms at Twickenham, walked through the tunnel to the pitch, and met most of the 1994 Women’s Rugby World Cup Winning squad as well as most of the current England Women’s team! Mind you my partner played in the 1994 squad and her niece is in the current squad, so I have them to thank for that!
