How Contronics enables Nottingham Trent University to follow industry legislation
Our customer, Nottingham Trent University (NTU), is the 9th largest university in the UK. As a research-based university, the NTU is required to store human tissue onsite, meaning that they have to comply with Human Tissue Act (HTA) legislation.
As part of the HTA legislation, organisations are required to record freezer temperatures as well as audit trails, which was something NTU’s manual system could not do. Not to mention that NTU’s manual temperature monitoring approach also took up valuable resources and was naturally prone to human error.
The Contronics team ensured that the new automated system was installed quickly and effectively, while our support team provided detailed training to staff. Since then, NTU has benefited from 24/7 monitoring are assured that their tissue samples are being stored at an optimal temperature with the knowledge that our system will alert them in case of an emergency. NTU also confidently adheres to the HTA legislation, enhancing its reliability and capability.
