What is temperature mapping and do I need it?

Temperature mapping, as you may know from one of our previous FAQ videos, is an exercise that is carried out, using equipment like monitoring probes, temperature sensors or data loggers. This is done to record various temperatures in storage areas that hold temperature-sensitive products and samples to see if there are any hot or cold temperature spots.

To find out more about temperature mapping, watch the video below.

After the exercise is complete, we will then use the data collected from the loggers to create a report detailing the findings, including specific data on the hot and cold spots so that you can know which areas have the optimum temperature to store your samples.

If you work with temperature-sensitive samples in hospital laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, life science and distribution organisations, you may be required to carry out these temperature mapping exercises to ensure the product and sample safety and industry regulatory compliance.
